Fight Club - Start a Fight

The song used here is called Cheribim Cheribum. It's performed by Mike Simpson, Art Hodge & Charles Goodan for the Dust Brothers score. It was left off the score soundtrack for, I think, publishing reasons. It features Art's beats, Charles playing melodica, fender rhodes, and various other instruments played by Art & Charles. It was a challenge and a lot of fun to make this track. It was done "to picture" and there is no other version of the song. I found it on youtube and it seems like the cool thing to post it here.
Fight Club Music Video

Somebody put With You to a fight club montage. Bizarre because this is the Linkin' Park song I did at the Dust Brothers, done at the same time, on the same studio gear, as Fight Club. I can't talk much about the Linkin' Park song or I'll be sued but I thought this youtube was killer.

Dust Bros. Fight Club Intro Scene

Recorded this at PCP labs. Some trivia: Art from the band Everclear rented left guitars and amps in the studio overnight which we used to do these final guitars when nobody was around. The cops came by because the amps were so loud. Music in this track includes a drill motor, out-of-tune melodica, time-stretched bonghits, and a sound geneated from a Boss guitar pedal that Beck left in the studio overnight, which if you touched the guitar cord to anything metal, it set off a "wonka wonka wonka" sound (with no guitar plugged in) that we pitched and time stretched to match the jam. Guitar notes are actually Vicki's jewelry box which played a song when opened like a music box, which we pitched and distorted. The temp music for this was Everlong by Foo Fighters, a killer song to use for reference...
